Alex Brown

Alex moved to Chico in 2008, where she earned two Bachelor’s degrees, and immediately achieved a Master's Degree in Social Work at CSU, Chico. She has worked in social services for the majority of her career, approaching the issues facing the community from direct service, prevention, and administrative lenses. Her primary areas of experience include mental health, LGBTQ+ advocacy, and interpersonal violence prevention and response. As an administrator at CSU, Chico, Alex mobilized campus stakeholders and students to participate in violence prevention, and provided leadership in implementing policy in a strategic, trauma-informed, and effective way. She now works as a Marketer and Business Development Professional at a local behavioral health service organization.
